What are the system requirements for LogMeIn Backup?

Make sure you are using up to date, officially supported third-party technology together with LogMeIn Backup. LogMeIn Backup is designed for use with third-party products and services (browser, OS, etc.) that are officially supported by their respective vendors and well-maintained by the end user (latest patches and updates installed). 
LogMeIn Backup is officially supported on the following Operating Systems:

  • Windows 7 32 and 64 bit
  • Windows 2000/Server 2000 (VSS not supported)
  • XP (SP3) 32 and 64 bit
  • Server 2003/2008 32 and 64 bit
  • Vista 32 and 64 bit
Note:  Due to operating system limitations, Backup cannot backup open files on Windows 2000 and 2000 Server.
Note:  Backup is not supported on Windows 8 workstations or higher and on Windows Server 2012 or higher.​

Running a NAS device?

You must have access to a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device to use it as backup storage. To check whether you have access to a NAS device, open Windows Explorer and make sure that your device is listed.

To run a scheduled backup on a network drive, you must first authenticate yourself to the network. To do so, open LogMeIn Backup and enter your domain name and password on the User Settings > Scheduled Backups page.

System accounts generally cannot access network drives; therefore, if you select the Run Scheduled Backups under the System Account option, your scheduled backup may fail to complete on a NAS device.

NAS devices generally do not accept Local Windows credentials unless they are a member of a domain.
