How do I change or move a Backup storage computer?

To change a Backup storage computer follow the steps below:

  1. If you do not have an extra Backup subscription, log into your LogMeIn.com account and go to the Backup > My Computers page.
  2. click Preferences next to the current Backup storage computer. 
  3. Click Delete this computer.  The computer will be deleted which will place a Backup subscription in an unused status within your account.
  4. Next, install the Backup software on the new storage computer.
  5. Manually copy the entire Backup storage folder from the old storage computer to the new one using general Windows copy\paste commands.
  6. Finally, open the Backup software on the new storage computer and select Preferences.  Then change the storage folder to the folder you just copied.
  7. You should see the backup sets in the Backup Console on the storage computer.  If you do not, close and open the Backup Console.
  8. You can now remove the Backup software from the old computer.
